Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. (And there are several) always clean, fast, service is always great and friendly. Have never tried anything I didn't like. The Green Jalapeño sauce on the salsa bar is amazing.

This place, quite unassuming on the outside, screams cantina, albeit a more brightly lit than usual cantina, but screaming cantina at all can be nothing but a good thing, a promise, a portent of what's to come. Happily, there's also a fairly extensive salsa bar, yet another strong sign. The reddish sauces I found overall the best, in somewhat limited doses, as accents moreso, but I appreciated their presence. Menu is a touch on the short side, comparatively, which is fine, as long as what they're doing, they do well and what they delivered here was pretty solid. The beans and rice were more on the filler side, but the carnitas I had were overall quite nice and blending everything together with the sour cream, lettuce, and tomato in conjunction with those other elements came together quite nicely. Service was impeccable and quite fantastic. Prices were a touch higher than I would regularly consider for lunch, but the atmosphere and ambiance were quite enjoyable to spend time in. Those things, along with the solid food and excellent service, were enough to give this the push, nudging it from 3.5 to a 4.
Hector was amazing! We showed up for a cultural breakfast experience for our kids at around 11:00 am and Hector treated us like royalty. He was generous with the chips and tortillas and encouraged us to try every salsa type at the salsa bar. He even recommended a few combinations that were delicious. (Creamy jalapeno plus roasted cilantro was a family favorite!) The food was delicious. The portion sizes were just right. To finish off our meal, Hector shared a bunch of slices of yummy Tres Leches cake. It's been a week since we were there, but my wife keeps asking for an excuse to get us back out to Tooele. Thank you, Hector!
